SEGGER emApps receives Best in Show Award at embedded world 2026

SEGGER’s emApps concept for bringing app-based functionality to embedded systems received the Best in Show Award from Embedded Computing Design in the Dev Tools, Software & OS category at embedded world 2026. The award recognizes innovative products and technologies presented at the show that significantly impact the embedded-systems industry.

emApps introduces an application layer for embedded systems that allows new functionality to be added without modifying validated core firmware. Small programs called apps can be dynamically loaded and executed in a protected sandbox environment, where each app runs in its own memory space, isolated from firmware and other apps.

This approach enables embedded devices to be expanded with new capabilities, while keeping firmware small and maintaining system stability and security.
