SEGGER expands partnership to make SystemView free for Silicon Labs customers

SEGGER is expanding its long-standing partnership with Silicon Labs. Effective immediately, SEGGER's SystemView real-time software analysis tool for verification and validation is available free of charge for users of Silicon Labs microcontrollers and wireless chips.

SystemView is a powerful trace-analysis tool. It provides deep real-time insights into embedded systems by tracing and visualizing events and key information. Developers working with Silicon Labs’s advanced chipsets can use SystemView to see and monitor exactly what is happening in their systems.

SystemView can also visualize variables over time, provide information on memory usage, and track events. In combination with SEGGER's J‑Link and RTT technology, data is streamed live to a host computer, where SystemView analyzes and visualizes it in real time. Data can also be recorded and stored for later evaluation and documentation.

“We’ve partnered closely with SEGGER for over a decade, and we have used SystemView internally for many years,” says Michael Norman, Director of Software and Tools Products at Silicon Labs. “It’s an incredibly valuable tool for analyzing software at a system level. Now that our first Series 3 products are available with even more compute and system integration, we felt it was time to make SystemView available to all of our customers.”

“SystemView and J-Link are a powerful combination,” explains Dirk Akemann, Head of Technical Marketing, SEGGER. “Silicon Labs customers benefit from the ability to analyze even the most complex systems, verify and validate system behavior, and optimize system resources and overall performance. We are delighted to expand our partnership with Silicon Labs to bring SystemView’s extensive capabilities to an even wider audience.”
