The SEGGER USB Hub-7 is a seven-port, industrial-grade USB hub that provides power to Flasher Compact units and connects them to the Flasher Hub-4 or the Flasher Hub-12.
Overview
The SEGGER USB Hub-7 is a 7-port USB 2.0 full speed USB hub designed to meet industrial standards in production environments.
It is tested according to EN 61326-1, EN 55011, and EN 55024/55035. These standards apply to electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use.

Use case
Gang programming
Gang programming is used to increase the throughput of a programming station. The SEGGER USB Hub-7 provides a tested USB hub to simply expand the number of available USB ports to connect up to 24 Flasher Compacts with a Flasher Hub-4 or Flasher Hub-12.

Safety considerations
The SEGGER USB Hub-7 provides basic isolation only. It is not for use with hazardous voltages without taking further protection measures to avoid risk of electrical shock and fire.
The USB Hub-7 provides basic isolation to withstand high voltages, as mentioned in the resp. technical data section. To protect people when dealing with potential hazardous voltage, it is mandatory to have a second protection measure in place in case the first insulation barrier fails. This is called double or reinforced isolation. How this double isolation is achieved depends on the use case or application setup.

A: No, but we recommend it as it is production grade, robust and tested. Many USB hubs on the market are not fully standard compliant, not as reliable and do not feature electrical isolation.

A: Yes. It can be used even with non-SEGGER products.
