SEGGER delivers day-one support for ST’s new STM32G5 microcontrollers
The STM32G5 marks the latest addition to STMicroelectronics’ well-established STM32 family of microcontrollers. The STM32G5 series is a family of general-purpose Arm® Cortex®-M33-based microcontrollers. It is built for high-performance motor control and digital power applications, giving developers the processing capability and peripheral set needed for demanding real-time control tasks.
Developers benefit from access to SEGGER’s proven debug and programming tools for embedded systems. A long-standing industry favorite, the J-Link family of debug probes enables unlimited flash breakpoints and fast downloads into on-chip and external flash memories. On the STM32G5, J-Link also enables authenticated debugging, giving developers a secure method for accessing and debugging protected devices. J-Trace streaming trace probes provide industry-leading capabilities for analyzing, verifying, and profiling code, while the Flasher family of professional in-system programmers delivers reliable, secure, and scalable solutions suitable for virtually any production programming requirement.
Beyond these tools, STM32G5 users can also leverage other compatible solutions within the SEGGER ecosystem, including the powerful Embedded Studio all-in-one integrated development environment and the SystemView real-time software analysis tool.
“As an ST Authorized Partner, SEGGER with its day-one support gives engineers working with our latest microcontrollers series, the STM32G5, dependable, high-quality debug and programming tools from the very start,” says Maxime Belaval, Microcontroller Ecosystem Marketing Manager, STMicroelectronics. “It creates a reliable development environment, allowing users to concentrate on their own applications and projects.”
“We’re pleased to provide SEGGER product support for ST's latest microcontrollers from day one, including authenticated debugging for the STM32G5,” says Dirk Akemann, Head of Technical Marketing, SEGGER. “This will help developers hit the ground running. Early support matters to both our organizations. It gives us timely feedback and insight into how our products are used in real workflows, helps identify areas for optimization, validates engineering maturity, and strengthens support overall.”
